After gaining 11 positions, Herdez-backed driver Michel Jourdain Jr. was forced to retire again, because his engine lost power during the Miller Lite 200 held at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Michel Jourdain Jr., Car #16, Herdez/Bettenhausen Motorsports: "We were saving gas for a two-pit stop strategy. Meanwhile we were gaining positions consistently and we wanted to finish in a good place. Mainly, because after achieving some points in Detroit, we did not finish a race, with 6 DNF's in a row including Mid-Ohio. This was not the best race weekend, but the crew has been working so hard and I wanted to reward them with a good result. They deserve it. It's a shame, we were so close to getting points..."

Joe Ward, Team Manager, Herdez/Bettenhausen Motorsports: "We were forced to use our backup car, due to an engine problem with the primary during the warm-up session. We were running a two pit stop strategy today and were able to move up from 24th to 13th when the engine expired 7 laps to go." k
