Herdez-backed driver Michel Jourdain Jr. ran one of his fastest laps of the season today, qualifying twelfth in Vancouver. Jourdain's performance places him in the fast group when qualifying continues tomorrow, setting him up to for the possibility of bettering his season best qualifying performance of 16th at Detroit. Today, his best lap was at 103.306 Mph. in 1'02.064.

Michel Jourdain Jr., Car #16, Herdez/Bettenhausen Motorsports: "I am very happy, because we were able to make it for the fast group for Saturday. I think our testing at Laguna Seca last week, help us a lot to have a better car for today's qualifying. Since this morning, we have been working to improve the car, because it was very loose, but now we are on the right direction and we think it will be ok. For the last qualifying session."

Joe Ward, Team Manager, Herdez/Bettenhausen Motorsports: "We are please for being able to move up into the fast group for tomorrow's qualifying. We believe this is a direct result from what we learned from the test at Laguna Seca. The engine preformed very well and the tires remained consistent through the run. Michel (Jourdain Jr.) was aggressive and he was able to relay the information to Tom Brown (his engineer), for a consistent set up."
