Alex Sperafico Joins HVM Racing
Toronto, Ontario, Canada. (July 8, 2005) -- HVM, a competitor in the Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford, today announced Alex Sperafico as the driver of the #55 HVM/Ford-Cosworth/Lola.
Sperafico, 31, of Toledo, Brazil will make his debut with the HVM Racing team this weekend at the Molson Indy Toronto, the same event where he scored his first Champ Car top-ten finish in 2004 while driving for Mi Jack/Conquest Racing.

This will mark Sperafico's 11th start in Champ Car. He drove for Dale Coyne Racing in 2003 when he completed two events and last year, he drove for Mi-Jack/Conquest Racing during eight events. A familiar name in the Champ Car paddock, Alex joins his cousin Ricardo who drives for Dale Coyne Racing this season. "This is a fantastic opportunity for me. HVM is known for their professionalism, they consistently prepare fast and reliable racecars and I am honored and excited to represent them in the Champ Car World Series. This is the best opportunity I have had in my professional racing career and I intend to maximize this chance."
