- RuSPORT enters the second round of the 2006 Champ Car World Series season after last week's successful test session in Sebring, Fla. When asked about it recently, A.J. Allmendinger (#10 RuSPORT Lola / Ford-Cosworth) called it "the best test the team has ever had." The Sebring test was the team's second since the Grand Prix of Long Beach in April, with the first test coming in Portland just a few days after the race. Both tests also included Justin Wilson (#9 CDW / RuSPORT Lola / Ford-Cosworth), who called the five-week period between races "a very busy time for us."

- In Houston, A.J. Allmendinger will look to rebound from a disappointing result in Long Beach, when he was taken out of the race in a turn-one incident involving three other top race contenders.

- Fresh off his runner-up finish in Long Beach, Justin Wilson sits in second place in the 2006 Champ Car World Series championship points standings, behind Long Beach winner Sebastien Bourdais.

- May 13 will mark several firsts for RuSPORT. The Reliant Park circuit in Houston is a new one to RuSPORT and the Champ Car World Series. RuSPORT has never competed in Houston, or in the state of Texas, and the team has never before entered the second round of a Champ Car season with a driver as high as second place in the championship standings.

- Houston is the home of a large headquarters facility of Hewlett-Packard (HP), a valued partner of the #9 CDW / RuSPORT car driven by Justin Wilson. EDGE Tech Corp., another valued partner of the #9 car, is also based in Texas, just up the road in Dallas.
