CHAMP CAR DRIVER PRE-RACE QUOTES --GRAND PRIX OF HOUSTON

Sebastien Bourdais #1 McDonald's Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: "I toured the Houston area in April before the Long Beach race and the complex is exceptional. The set up is going to be perfect for us. Obviously it's 'concrete racing' and there are definitely got a lot of small bumps and everything but they've been cutting the pavement and putting some new concrete in the corners so it's going to be bumpy on the straight and under braking but the corners should be pretty good. The race will only be a few days after the wedding so hopefully it's going to bring me good luck. I think night racing is exciting. It's going to be a cool atmosphere and everybody tends to party a little bit more when it's nighttime so it should be cool. Hopefully the McDonald's team will have something to celebrate after the race is over and we can join them."

Justin Wilson #9 CDW Ford-Cosworth/Bridgestone/Lola -- "It's been a busy few weeks. The tests in Portland and Sebring were useful, and I'm looking forward to getting out there and quantifying what we've learned. We've done some simulation work on the track layout for Houston, so I have a bit of an idea what to expect. On Wednesday, we'll walk the track to see what it's really like, understand the layout and get used to the scenery, but it will still be an interesting first day as we get our heads around it. At night, everything seems so much quicker and it's really easy to find yourself significantly off the pace, so I'll need to concentrate even harder than usual."

Alex Tagliani #5 Aussie Vineyards Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone - "It has been a long wait since the first race. I'm excited to get back in the car and to get back with the boys on the track. In the season opener we scored a lot of points, and set a good momentum for the season. We are closer than ever to the championship and know that we can be there. This is a really important weekend for this team, Houston is a new track for us and we don't know it like some of the other tracks like Cleveland and Portland, so we need to keep our good momentum and stay out of trouble this weekend. We are off to a good start and ready for a successful weekend."

Andrew Ranger #27 Tide/Mi-Jack Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: - "I'm happy to be back with the Conquest Racing Team for the Grand Prix of Houston. It's a race that I'm really looking forward to because it will be the first time I take part in a night event on a street course. I saw the track layout when I was there last November for the unveiling and it looks like a very challenging track, it should be an exciting race for the fans as well as the drivers. Hopefully, we can put in another performance like in Long Beach and get a good result for the team."

Katherine Legge #20 Bell Micro - PKV Racing Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: "I am looking forward to Houston because racing at night will be another new challenge for me. I am also looking forward to racing at a new venue as well, because it will be more of a level playing field. The Bell Micro -- PKV Racing team had a decent result in Long Beach in my first race, but my aim is to keep improving. I know I have a lot of work to do, but the whole PKV Racing team has been very supportive and I am looking forward to continuing along the learning curve."

Will Power #5 Aussie Vineyards Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone - "I'm feeling good about the weekend. I've had a nice long break, got lots of rest and had time to focus on the races ahead. I'm excited about Houston, it's a new track for everyone, so it's not a massive difference, but a good one. The long wait is over, we have two races in a row, Houston and Monterrey, so we can just jump in and race."

Charles Zwolsman #34 GoldenPalace.net Casino Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: - "The only time I raced at night was in a kart race when I was 12, so I can't wait to compete on the streets of Houston under the lights in a Champ car, I'm sure it will be a memorable experience. Like most of the other drivers, I have only seen the track on paper, but it seems to be a competitive one. This race will also give me a chance to evaluate the recuperation from my back and wrist injuries."

Bruno Junqueira #2 Newman/Haas Racing Ford-Cosworth/Bridgestone/Lola -- I'm looking forward to Houston even more than I was before Long Beach which was a great weekend until the green flag on Sunday. We had a strong car and I wanted to give Newman/Haas and myself a great result in my first race back but we were hit in turn 1 on the first lap. I'm confident that we will be strong again in Houston because Newman/Haas is very competitive on street courses, including new ones. They really do their homework before coming to a track. I raced in Houston in 2001 in my first season in the Champ Car series. It was a different track from the one we are going to race on this year but the fans and the atmosphere of the race in Houston was great and I'm sure it will be the same this year. I have good memories of Houston and I think it's great that Champ Car is going back there."

A.J Allmendinger #10 RuSPORT Ford-Cosworth/Bridgestone/Lola - "I'm looking forward to the race in Houston. This should be an exciting new race for Champ Car, especially since it's the first ever street race at night. I am really excited about this race, because we had a great car at Long Beach all weekend, but unfortunately, we just didn't get the chance to show it in the race. We learned a lot of things at the Sebring test this past week that should make us better going into Houston. I really feel like my whole team and I are working well together to get us back on track at Houston."

Oriol Servia #6 Gulfstream - PKV Racing Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone- "I hope to make the race in Houston a special one because it will be my 100th career Champ Car start. I liked the schedule when we raced at night in Cleveland and Milwaukee, so I am sure it will go well in Houston. Maybe it is because I am from Barcelona, where there is a lot of night life, I don't know, but I definitely work well on a late schedule. The Gulfstream - PKV Racing team made good progress in testing last week in Sebring so I want to use what we learned to start putting some points on our account for this year."

Nicky Pastorelli #8 Rocketsports Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone - "I am very excited about making my Champ Car debut this weekend in Houston. I have had the opportunity to test twice now with Rocketsports Racing, in Portland and Milwaukee, so I have a pretty good idea of what to expect this weekend. I look forward to the challenge, as I continue to get comfortable in the car in a race weekend environment and learn the new track. But the good thing is that the track is new for everybody, so I think that will be a small advantage for me especially making my debut. I can not wait to be a part of all the excitement at the new venue in Houston, it was so cool to attend my first Champ Car event as a guest of Rocketsports in Long Beach, but this weekend it will be even more exciting for me to be racing and not just a spectator!"
