Justin posted the 6th fastest time in Friday's final qualifying session around the temporary Reliant Park street circuit in Houston, hustling his #9 CDW-RuSPORT car over the bumps to post a 58.829 (103.418mph). However, he'll start from 7th on the grid for Saturday night's race after Bruno Junqueira guaranteed himself a front row start by taking provisional pole on Thursday. Team-mate A.J. Allmendinger qualified 4th in a session dominated by Forsythe's Mario Dominguez who starts from pole.
Justin was disappointed not to start further up the grid, but he's hopeful of making up ground in what's likely to be a physical, high-attrition race. "We made some improvements, but we still weren't quick enough, so it's a bit frustrating to be starting so far back", said Justin. "But it will be a long, tough race, so we'll try to keep out of trouble and see what the race brings. The track is gripping up well, which makes it even more disappointing that we didn't pick up more time, so we'll just go back and study it and see how we can improve tomorrow. The crew is working really hard to make the car quicker, and we're all looking forward to the race tomorrow night."
