Indianapolis, IN (May 7, 2004) -- Herdez Competition has completed another successful test, this time at the historic Milwaukee Mile. It was the first oval test of the season for the Herdez duo. Demonstrating the fact that Champ Car drivers are the most diversified, perfecting all track disciplines, both Dominguez and Hunter-Reay were up to speed immediately at The Mile, despite not having driven on an oval in nearly a year.

Team Manager Vince Kremer was pleased with the results of the test and the team's continued progress. "We went to this test with two trains of thought and worked toward one direction. We validated our developments with both drivers as they both left the test happy with their cars and confident for the race. Our times showed good progress being second quick on the first day and first and third quick on day two."

Hunter-Reay completed nearly 200 miles on Wednesday, setting the second fastest time of the day when he lapped the 1.032-mile oval in 20.93 seconds. "I haven't had a lot of time on the ovals in a Champ Car and this was my first experience on an oval with the Lola. My car was great. I am confident we will run up front when we return here in June," said Hunter-Reay.

Thursday saw Dominguez top the charts with a best lap time of 21.22 seconds, his day was cut short when the rain set in; he completed 115 laps. Dominguez commented on his test, "the set-up my crew put on the car last night is good. It's been a while since we have been on an oval, but my team never gets rusty. I have a good car for the race and I am looking forward to it." Hunter-Reay completed a race segment simulation, completing 45 laps and setting the third best time of the day at 21.80 seconds

Herdez Competition will return to the Milwaukee Mile for round three of the 2004 Champ Car World Series, the only night race of the season, on Saturday, June 5th.
