MAURICIO GUGELMIN - # 17 NEXTEL PACWEST TOYOTA
"My qualifying run felt pretty good," said Gugelmin. "I'm happy with the balance of my car. My Nextel team did a great job of preparing my backup car very similar to my primary car, so we didn't really have a lot of changes to make this morning. I'm still pretty sore from my accident, but it doesn't really effect me when I'm in the car. The warmth inside my cockpit keeps my muscles loose, but once I get out I tighten up really fast. I've actually found myself needing a little help just to get out of my car, but the medical group here has been great in helping to prepare my body so I could continue running. Thanks to them I was able to put my car in the show and I'll be ready to race on Sunday."
SCOTT DIXON - # 18 POWERWARE PANASONIC PACWEST TOYOTA
"My car has a lot of understeer right now, so we'll need to work on that prior to tomorrow's race," said Dixon. "We spoke to Mauricio after his run and used some of the information he gave us to gauge how our car was set-up for our attempt. Unfortunately for me, the track lost a lot of grip, and my car was quite loose. I should be okay for Sunday but the front end of my car is still a bit funny in traffic. We'll go over all of the data tonight and come out with a race setup that I know will be competitive."
