Tracy's 100th

Madison, IL - Defending champion Paul Tracy (KOOL Reynard Honda) will reach a career milestone at Saturday's Motorola 300 when he makes the 100th start of his Champ Car career, which dates to 1991.

Since his 1991 Champ Car debut at Long Beach, where he started 14th and finished 22nd, Tracy has driven for Dale Coyne Racing (1991), Penske Racing (1991-94, '96-97), Newman/Haas Racing (1995) and Team KOOL Green (1998) during his career. He ranks eighth in both CART career victories with 13 and CART career pole positions with 12.

Among Tracy's other accomplishments, he ranks seventh in career laps led (2,028), third in laps led in a single season (756, 1993), and is tied for seventh with Bobby Rahal, Alex Zanardi and Johnny Rutherford in career victories from the pole position (4).

Nine times in FedEx Championship Series history, a driver has won three consecutive events during a single season. Tracy accomplished the feat last year at Nazareth, Rio de Janeiro and Gateway. He has posted four top-six finishes in the PPG Cup championship, in 1993 (third), 1994 (third), 1995 (sixth) and 1997 (fifth). Tracy enters this weekend ranked 10th in the PPG Cup championship with 20 points.
