CHAMPCAR/CART: Free qualifying day tickets at Texas Motor Speedway

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (April 6, 2001) - Texas Motor Speedway today announced Motorola Inc. and Radio Shack as the sponsors of the Saturday, April 28 qualifying day for the CART FedEx Championship Series Firestone Firehawk 600, presented by Pioneer.

FORT WORTH-DALLAS (April 6, 2001) - Texas Motor Speedway today announced Motorola Inc. and Radio Shack as the sponsors of the Saturday, April 28 qualifying day for the CART FedEx Championship Series Firestone Firehawk 600, presented by Pioneer. Fans will be able to pick up their free qualifying day tickets at 165 participating Dallas-Fort Worth area Radio Shack stores.

"Once again we have partnered with great sponsors to give fans an exciting day of racing for free," said speedway general manager Eddie Gossage. "Not only will fans see qualifying for the Firestone Firehawk 600, presented by Pioneer, they will also be able to watch the Dayton Indy Lights Series race. It's a great day of racing entertainment available at absolutely no cost to our fans."=20

CART qualifying is 1:30 - 3:00 p.m. CDT on Saturday, April 28, followed by the Dayton Indy Lights Series race at 3:15 p.m. CDT. Green flag for the Firehawk 600 is Sunday, April 29, at 2:00 p.m. CDT.=20

Free Motorola Radio Shack Qualifying Day tickets will be made available at participating Radio Shack stores by Tuesday, April 10. Race tickets for the April 29 Firehawk 600 are available by contacting the speedway ticket hotline at (817) 215-8500, online at www.texasmotorspeedway.com, as well as all Ticketmaster outlets.
