Brack: "My Tires Were Great All Day!"

After winning today's Firestone Firehawk 500, Kenny Brack pulled his Team Rahal Ford/Lola/Firestone package into pit row, stood up in the cockpit and said "My tires were great all day!" The grinning Swede, now atop the CART points chart with this win, was not alone in his appreciation for the performance of the Firestone tires in this race. Several drivers in the final pit stops opted for fuel only, trusting their Firehawks to keep on going. That trust was not betrayed as the Firehawks worked well all day with impressive grip, durability and consistency.

Joe Barbieri: "You couldn't ask for a much better race than the one we had here today. The weather was nearly perfect, there were several heated battles for the lead, there were lots of different team strategies regarding pit stops, and the Japanese fans were just wonderful. And, of course, Kenny Brack drove a great race and the whole Rahal team put in a 110 percent effort. When the last lap went green and Kenny pushed the gas petal to the floor, it appeared that all the fans here were on their feet. It's great to see that kind of enthusiasm and excitement. We're already looking forward to the CART race here in 2002."

Scott Roembke: "The tires were awesome! They just last and last. We weren't going to change them on that last pit stop, but we had the time so we went ahead and made the change. This feels absolutely fantastic!"
