WET CONDITIONS DURING THE DAY PREVENTED FASTER LAP TIMES FROM FRIDAY'S QUALIFYING; PACIFICARE DRIVER SERVIA TO START FOURTH IN WEST EDMONTON MALL GRAND PRIX WHILE McDONALD'S DRIVER BOURDAIS REMAINED 10TH FASTEST

Oriol Servia, No. 2 PacifiCare Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: "I think we made some improvements with the car overnight and had something for the competition. It was our best Friday since I have been with Newman/Haas so I do believe we had something for the competition but we weren't able to show it because of the slower conditions today and the red flags. I am confident that it will be an extremely demanding race both physically and mentally. I think this is a very different race than what we are used to; the track is completely different from anywhere we go. After three laps, it's really hard and to do 88 laps with no mistakes will be a challenge."

FAST FACTS: Will be his first race here...Is ranked fifth in the standings with 107 points to leader Bourdais' 150 (-43).

Sebastien Bourdais, No. 1 McDonald's Ford-Cosworth/Lola/Bridgestone: "We didn't run much today due to the conditions. We only did minimal laps in the practice and only four laps in qualifying due to the red flags and obviously today we accomplished nothing since the session ended without much happening. I was pretty happy with the car yesterday; we were the fastest in the first session but my mistake in qualifying really hurt us. We were hoping to improve our starting position today but could not really stretch our legs. If we could have set the fastest lap time in the session we could have moved up to a second place start but we weren't able to give it much of a shot because of all of the red flags. Realistically it will be difficult to pass in the race. We are going to have to be very patient and work very hard to move the McDonald's car to the front and collect some good points."

FAST FACTS: Will be his first race here...Leads the point standings with 150 to second place Paul Tracy's 135.

NEWMAN/HAAS RACING FACTS: NHR has won 11 races and 10 poles and 25 podium finishes in Canada. NHR has won SEVEN races in Toronto (Bourdais 2004; da Matta 2002; Michael Andretti 2000, 1995, 1992, 1991, 1989), THREE in Vancouver (Michael Andretti -- 1996, 1992, 1991) and ONE in Montreal (Junqueira 2004). The have won FOUR poles in Toronto (Bourdais 2004 & 2005, da Matta 2002, Mi. Andretti 1991), FOUR poles in Vancouver (Da Matta -- 2002; Mi. Andretti -- 1992, 1991, 1990) and TWO in Montreal (Bourdais 2004, da Matta 2002). Overall, the team has earned 25 top-three podium finishes in Canada. With 84 wins, 88 pole positions and 209 podium finishes since their first season of competition in 1983, Newman/Haas Racing is the most successful team competing in the Champ Car World Series and the second most successful overall open-wheel racing team competing today. Marlboro Team Penske (MTP) has earned 122 open-wheel wins and is in their 38th season while NHR has earned 84 and is in their 23rd. During the years that NHR has been in existence (1983-current) MTP has earned 85 while NHR has earned 84. Perhaps the most impressive detail however is the fact that NHR ran only one driver it's first six seasons (Mario Andretti) while MTP ran two-to-three drivers per season. From 1989 to present, NHR has been a two-car team while MTP expanded from a two car team to run three cars for three of those seasons.
