Paul Tracy spoke about his provision pole position:
"Team Player's did a great job and we have been fortunate to start on the front row for every race this year. It's a real bonus. The car was quick as we hit the track this morning and we kept the pace. I thought that I had two laps left when my engineers told me that I was going to start the last one. I pulled half a second quicker as the tyres reached the right temperature. The car had a bit of oversteer but I ran almost flat out."
Bruno Junqueira , who qualified second, spoke about the circuit:
"I think that's a short track, there are not many corners, but every single corner is quite difficult -- especially turn one and the last turn. Turn one because it's a blind corner, then is very difficult to get the brake point and the turning point to hit the apex right. And last turn because it's such a long corner, come from a very fast chicane, it's difficult to brake, difficult to get the right line and to put the power down, as well. Those are the two most difficult corners of the track."
Sebastien Bourdais qualified in third place and talked to journalists after the session:
"To me the grip level was pretty impressive. The tyres went up to speed pretty quickly, and I was satisfied with the balance. Just like you say, "All right, so now you have two choices: either you push really hard and you have the possibility to make a mistake or you try to temperate a bit yourself" and, all right, we'll see tomorrow."
Darren Manning , competing in his home race, commented on his performance today:
"I made a mistake in the kink and lost about two and a half tenths on the dashboard on my last lap. The car is still a little bit difficult to drive and we thought about making some changes, but decided to stick with what we had and play it safe going into qualifying. We've got more to come, hopefully, if it stays dry tomorrow. I'm certainly happy with how it's going so far. It's great to be racing in England and to have the support of the fans".
Adrian Fernandez spoke about his accident during free practice and the impact it had on the team and the rest of the day:
"I was using too much of the curb in Clearways and when I put more of the car on the curb, basically, that was not forgiving for the car and I lost it. It was a shame because the car was running pretty good and now that car is not available for this weekend. We had to go to the T-car and we made some changes the wrong way in terms of set-up, so we just have to regroup and I think we will have a good car. The guys had to rush out pretty quickly because we gave them a lot of changes."
