The #10 Western Union crew again had a strong morning practice session, posting the third-fastest time overall. In today's final qualifying session, A.J. Allmendinger posted his first qualifying laps of the weekend and delivered the highest rookie result. Today's effort marks A.J.'s sixth top-ten qualification and his highest on a street-circuit.
"It was a little disappointing today because we were faster in practice this morning. We thought the car was going to be really good on new tires, but we were off a few tenths because of some understeer. If we'd had the car we had from this morning, we would have been in the top five. So it's disappointing, but considering yesterday's performance, seventh is a big improvement."
Jeremy Dale, Team President
"It was an interesting session for us, but definitely better than yesterday. We're really sort of chasing this race track in terms of getting the car right. A.J. did a nice job and seventh is a solid effort without a doubt, but I think he'll be disappointed with that result because he really felt the car was better than that this morning and capable of starting higher on the grid. Tomorrow is really going to be about staying out of trouble and not making mistakes for us, but Denver is our home and we hope to put on a good show and deliver some great results for our friends, family, and partners."
