BJORN WIRDHEIM, #4 HVM/Lola/Ford-Cosworth/Bridgestone

Bjorn on Qualifying: "We provisionally qualified seventh yesterday, so I was really looking forward to today. This morning we tried a few setting adjustments that didn't work. We changed the car back for today's qualifying, back to where we had it yesterday. It was a massive improvement and we were fifth quick in the pre-qualifying warm-up. Then just as I started my last laps in the first stint during qualifying, my gear linkage broke. My crew fixed it and we went out for the final stint of qualifying and we caught a lot of traffic. I knew there would be a lot of cars coming out while I would be at the fastest part of my final run, so I tried to rush it and get my best laps in early in the final stint and I made a mistake. I don't think I have every been more disappointed at an event as I am today because we had a very good opportunity for a top-six start and we threw it away."

Rodolfo Lavin, #55 HVM/Lola/Ford-Cosworth/Bridgestone

Rodolfo on Qualifying:"I am very disappointed because yesterday we had a very good car. We made some changes that didn't help us, I was locking-up and the rear-end was sliding out on the entry to the corners. We went back to what we knew was good for the final stint and the car felt much better again. I was comfortable again and finding the limit and I set my fastest lap right away, my next couple of laps traditionally would be better and better, but it was too late, the red flag ended our day early."
