CBS Sports to air Champ Car coverage on three consecutive days of weekend coverage.

INDIANAPOLIS (May 2, 2003) - Over the course of the next two weekends, Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford will dominate CBS Sports' weekend programming with three consecutive days of weekend coverage.

CBS will air its first CART Champ Car programming of the 2003 season with Sunday's "Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford - Past, Present, and Future" broadcast from England's Brands Hatch Circuit. The program - which airs at 12:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 4 - will chronicle the 2003 season to date, in addition to bringing viewers up to speed on what has happened in the two qualifying sessions for Monday's inaugural London Champ Car Trophy and taking a look at what's to come for the 2003 CART Champ Car season.

On Saturday, May 10, CBS Sports will air the London Champ Car Trophy race - which will have taken place on Monday, May 5 - which will be the first English-speaking telecast of the event in the United States. The London Champ Car Trophy is scheduled to air at 1:00 p.m. ET next Saturday.

The weekend on CBS wraps up with the second running of the German 500 from EuroSpeedway Lausitz on Sunday, May 11 at 1:00 p.m. ET. The German 500 is the first oval race of the 2003 Champ Car World Series, and is sure to be an emotional event as two-time Champ Car champion Alex Zanardi - who lost both of his legs from the knee down in the inaugural CART Champ Car event at EuroSpeedway Lausitz in 2001 - will be at the track serving as the grand marshal of the race.
