Tony Kanaan, #21 LCI Reynard-Honda (Finished 14th):
"The race was very busy and I made a couple of mistakes on the track. I spun a couple of times -- at the start and at the middle of the race when my tires went away. I was really trying to catch everybody and I made a mistake. I got penalized for (Mark) Blundell as well. I almost hit him in the pits and we lost a lot of time over that.
"Tires were very important here and I think we had a good tire because I could run fast every single lap. They didn't give away that quick. It was just one of those days when everything went wrong and we finished not very good, but just good. I got very lucky in Portland and today I wasn't that lucky."
Airton Dare, #1 Banestado/LCI Lola (Finished 13th):
"The car was not getting worse during the race like some of the other guys. We tried a shorter fifth gear for the race but I hit the limiter on the straight. I came out of Turn Seven quicker than those guys but when we were side-by-side I started to hit the rev limiter and couldn't pass them. It was fun out there, fighting with everybody."
Cristiano da Matta, #2 Medley/LCI Lola (Finished 22nd):
"The race was going along pretty much the way I expected. I was running in fourth, maybe I could have had a shot for third. With all this confusion with the other cars, it was difficult to say how we were going to finish. I felt for sure we were going to finish in the top three. It's a pity that we had this problem with the engine. We have been a little bit unlucky the last couple of races but I think we have spent all our bad luck, and we are going to be okay from now on."
