- RuSPORT enters round six of the 2006 Champ Car World Series with both drivers in the top five in the Champ Car driver's championship. Justin Wilson sits in second place, trailing Sebastien Bourdais by 30 points, and Cristiano da Matta currently shares fifth place with three other drivers.

- In 2005, Wilson finished in seventh place at Cleveland, after qualifying in 16th. Da Matta, who was driving for PKV Racing at the time, was leading the race, but was involved in an on-track incident with a lapped car, and was unable to complete the race, officially finishing in 16th. In 2004, Wilson took fourth place at Cleveland while driving for Mi-Jack / Conquest Racing. In 2002, da Matta captured the Cleveland pole, but experienced mechanical problems and finished in 16th as a member of Newman-Haas Racing.

- Da Matta comes to Cleveland after a solid fifth-place performance in Portland, which was his first race as a member of RuSPORT. Wilson's runner-up result in Portland marked the fourth time in five races this season that he has finished in second place, and gave Wilson the seventh podium of his career.
