Justin disappointed with 8th in Cleveland final qualifying

After his 4th fastest time in Friday's provisional qualifying, Justin seemed to have found the momentum he was looking for when he posted the 3rd fastest time during Saturday morning's practice session. But when it came to the crunch in final qualifying the #9 CDW car didn't have the pace needed to break into the 56s lap times being posted by the front-runners. In the end Justin's fastest lap of 57.079s was only enough for 8th on the grid. Although this was three tenths of a second better than his provisional qualifying time on Friday, others made more substantial gains to leapfrog up the grid for Sunday's race.

Polesitter Sebastien Bourdais (Newman Haas Lanigan) will line up beside compatriot Simon Pagenaud (Team Australia) for an all-French front row. Justin will take his position for Cleveland's first standing start on row 4, alongside Paul Tracy (Forsythe) and one spot ahead of his RSPORTS team mate Alex Tagliani.

"We're obviously not very happy with our result in final qualifying", said Justin. "I'm not really sure what's going on with the #9 CDW car today, but we're going to work on it and see if we can find out where we're losing time. We've got a lot of work to do, but this is a long race and you never know what can happen. So we'll do the best we can to prepare for tomorrow's race and hopefully find exactly what we need to get the #9 CDW car back on the pace."

Sunday's race starts at 6pm UK time and is live on Eurosport 2.
