Justin and the ...
Justin and the #9 CDW/RSPORTS team struggled during Friday's first practice session in Cleveland, but they made progress with the set-up later in the afternoon to post the 3rd fastest time in the pre-qualifying warm-up and 4th fastest (57.427sec, 132.022 mph) in the first qualifying session. Justin stayed on the harder, black Bridgestone tyre compound for both qualifying stints and set his fastest time on his 14th and final lap.
Sebastien Bourdais took provisional pole for Newman Haas Lanigan and guaranteed himself a front row starting spot in the process. The Frenchman's time of 56.961 (133.102 mph) - also on the harder Bridgestones - was three tenths of a second clear of Team Australia team-mates Will Power (57.301) and Simon Pagenaud (57.338) who were 2nd and 3rd fastest. Justin's RSPORTS team-mate Alex Tagliani was 6th fastest (57.652).
"It started off tough this morning, but we're getting quicker", said Justin. "I still feel like we've got some work to do. Tomorrow we'll try and get the #9 CDW car on the front row and from there we'll aim for another podium."
