Adrián Fernández, Owner/Driver -- #51 Tecate/Quaker State/Telmex Honda/Lola/Bridgestone:
Qualified: 16th 59.297 127.858 mph
"We had a problem this morning with the gear position sensor [relays to the electronics what gear the car is in] so we lost an hour there. We should have brought out the backup car but we didn't think it would take that much time to fix. We got in a situation where we got stuck with that car and lost an hour. That didn't help because the car was not good. It was extremely unbalanced with no grip at all. For qualifying, we made a huge amount of changes to the car. I improved my time from this morning but still we are way off. The car is undrivable. It has push. It's loose. It's just hard to go quick. Since Toronto, I feel there is something basic that we are doing wrong. For some reason the car hasn't felt right."

Tom Anderson, Co-Owner/Managing Director:
"We seem to keep repeating ourselves in saying Friday is a test day. Today was a little more of a shot in the dark test day than I appreciate having but when you are starting at the bottom, there is always room for improvement. We are going to look at the data tonight and I feel pretty confident that Fernández Racing can climb the ladder tomorrow."
