Just as Ryan Hunter-Reay set the fastest time of the session on only his 11th lap, he was hit from behind after completing a pass on the outside of David Cutler. Hunter-Reay was sent into the wall at the exit of turn four and received extensive damage to the right side of his car. There was heavy damage, but fortunately the tub and gearbox of his Swift 014.a remained intact. The #1 crew had just 2 1/2 hours to get the car back to running condition. Their hustle paid off and Hunter-Reay was back on track with half of the second session remaining. Hunter-Reay completed 17 laps, 15 laps less than most of the field and finished the session in 11th position.

Hunter-Reay presented his #1 Autobytel Inc./Medlock Ames Winery/Toyota/Swift with a 58 lap deficit to the rest of the field yet he still registered the sixth fastest time out of 23 cars. Hunter-Reay has qualified in the top ten in every event so far this season.

Hylton Motorsports made a very exciting announcement today, Autobytel Inc., the leading internet automotive marketing services company will be the primary sponsor of Hunter-Reay's #1 Swift this weekend at the CART Grand Prix of Chicago and at the series' final event, the inaugural Grand Prix of Denver. Welcome on board Autobytel!

Friday Qualifying: 6th 27.373 133.718

Hunter-Reay on Morning Practice:
"The session started off pretty good. I was running well and I passed Cutler on the outside, my pass was complete and the next thing I know, I feel a car slam hit me from behind and I was headed into the wall looking at the infield."

Hunter-Reay on Qualifying:
"We took a shot in the dark on the set-up and we came up short as a result of a lack of track time. It's been a tough day for us, I only ran a handful of laps going into qualifying but my guys did a great job getting my car together. We definitely have some work to do on the set-up tonight, hopefully we can put together a strong set-up for the race tomorrow."
