CARROLL READY FOR CHAMP CAR DEBUT

Great Britain's Adam Carroll is ready for action in the final round of the Champ Car Series should RuSPORT regular and fellow Brit Justin Wilson not be fit to race. With the final round just over a week away (12 November) it is a race against time for Wilson who broke a bone in his wrist during warm-up in the previous round in Surfers Paradise, Australia.

But Carroll, 24 from Northern Ireland, who tested for the successful RuSPORT team in September, will definitely drive the car during the weekend to gain some on track experience should Justin Wilson be unable to drive.

"The idea is to have Adam ready to take over the No. 9 car at any point in the weekend should Justin feel he won't be able to race," said RuSPORT Team President Jeremy Dale. "Adam did a great job in his test with us at Sebring, and these extra laps will make sure that if we need him, he's not stepping in completely cold on a track he's never been to before."

Adam added, "Of course it would be good for Justin to drive, get more points and possibly overtake 2nd place in the points race, but I look forward to being there in case he can't. If I do get the chance to drive, I'll give it my best shot and hope to get a good result. It will be a great opportunity to drive the car but if it doesn't happen, it is at least a good chance to work with a top Champ Car team like RuSPORT."

And the injured Wilson agreed, "I want to thank Adam for coming to this final race in support of me and the rest of the team. He has tested well in Sebring and he would be a good addition to the Champ Car series."

Adam is a former GP2 winner with victories coming at some of Europe's toughest circuits, Imola, Spa and the jewel in the crown, Monaco. He also successfully tested on several occasions for the Honda Racing F1 team.
