BOURDAIS AND TRACY TEAM UP ON AARWBA ALL-AMERICA TEAM

INDIANAPOLIS ( November 10 , 2005) -- After a season that saw Champ Car stars Sebastien Bourdais and Paul Tracy battle week-in and week-out very few thought the day would come when they would become teammates. But the racing media has spoken and members of the American Auto Racing Writers & Broadcasters Association (AARWBA) have voted the rivals to the 25th edition of its All-America Team.

2005 Bridgestone Presents the Champ Car World Series Powered By Ford Champion Sebastien Bourdais makes his third appearance on the team. This also marks the second consecutive year Bourdais, who won six events during the 2005 season en-route to dominating the race for the Vanderbilt Cup, has been named a First Team All-American by AARWBA. To go along with his six victories, Bourdais also claimed six Bridgestone Pole Awards and completed all but ten of the 1,310 laps run during the Champ Car World Series season.

Paul Tracy, Bourdais' most heated rival during the 2005 season, also earned his way onto the team garnering Honorable Mention status from the media. Tracy is a nine-time member (three-time First Team selection) of the AARWBA All-America Team dating back to 1990 when he earned first team status after dominating the Indy Lights Championship. The veteran racer earned two wins and three Bridgestone Pole Awards during the 2005 season.

Fifty-six finalists for the team were nominated two-weeks ago and the two drivers who received the most votes in each of the seven categories earned first-team status, with the third- and fourth-placed drivers earning second-team berths. Drivers that received at least five percent of the vote without falling into the above categories, earned honorable mention status. The leading vote getter will receive the Jerry Titus Award, which honors AARWBA's driver of the year. The first-team honorees will be feted at the annual AARWBA banquet, to be held in Indianapolis on December 3.
