Montreal, Quebec, November 2, 2000 Team Player's driver Alex Tagliani, who suffered bruises to his back and one of his lungs in a racing incident in the final event of the FedEx CART Championship season in Fontana last Monday, is recovering at his Las Vegas home.

Tagliani was discharged from Loma Linda Hospital in Fontana last Tuesday and decided to return home rather than travel to Indianapolis this week for an examination by Dr. Terry Trammell, Chief Orthopedic Surgeon for the CART series. Tagliani is on medication for the next two weeks to reduce the inflammation and relieve the pain stemming from his injuries.

"The soreness is gone from my lung, but the area from my neck to the middle of my back still hurts, although I'm able to get around without any problems, which leads me to believe that I'll be able to make a quick recovery," said Tagliani. The Team Player's driver was running in third place with only two laps left in the race when the engine let go on his car and it skidded into the wall.

"I expect to start working out in three weeks, and I'll go and see Dr. Trammell the next time that I'm in Indianapolis, which should be near the end of November, when I go there to get my car seat moulded for the 2001 season," remarked Tagliani.

In his first season in the CART series, Tagliani finished in 16th place in the drivers' standings, compiling 53 points.
