2005 BRIDGESTONE PRESENTS CHAMP CAR WORLD SERIES POWERED BY FORD PREVIEW SHOW TO AIR SATURDAY ON SPEED CHANNEL

INDIANAPOLIS (March 31, 2005) -- Champ Car fans will get their first look at the cars and stars that will compete for the 2005 Vanderbilt Cup as SPEED Channel airs the Champ Car 2005 Series Preview Show.

The 30-minute show will air at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday April 2 and will feature many of the teams and drivers that will take to the streets of Long Beach in the April 10 season opener, which can be seen live on NBC. The fast-paced program takes viewers behind the scenes for the inside scoop on what the 2005 season will hold, what the changes are, who made improvements and where the surprises will come from. In addition, the show will feature opinions from noted racing journalists Robin Miller and Gordon Kirby on who the early favorites are for the 2005 title.

"I'm sure the show will spark some controversy among the fans, as Robin and Gordon really spoke their minds," said preview producer John Orfanopoulos. "This kind of hard-hitting, no-holds-barred insider view makes great, thought-provoking and entertaining television."

Produced by Traveling Light Media and shot at preseason testing in Fontana and Sebring, the show will bring fans up to speed in preparation for the 2005 Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford season opener to come the following week.

"We have seen a number of changes and exciting new additions to the Champ Car lineup as we head into the 2005 season," said Champ Car President Dick Eidswick. "We have the deepest lineup of driver talent that we have had in a long time and we think that this show is a great way to get the fans ramped up for a great season of Champ Car racing."

The Bridgestone Presents The Champ Car World Series Powered by Ford season kicks off Sunday, April 10, live on NBC with race coverage beginning at 4 p.m. Eastern Time.
