Sebastien Bourdais and Jay Penske signed a contract today that will keep the talented Frenchman in the cockpit for Dragon Racing. No word on the team’s other driver, Katherine Legge, at this time.
"With the stability of the staff, the sponsors and the experience that we amassed this year, I am very confident that we can achieve great results next season," said Bourdais on his multi-year contract.
The change came just prior to the Indianapolis 500 with both drivers.
Bourdais was at home with the Chevy power, and handed the team their highest finish at Mid-Ohio. While he just missed the podium, the Frenchman and former CART four-time consecutive champion was disappointed that he missed the podium, but the team was happy!
Last year, he was able to take on other challenges when not committed to an IZOD IndyCar race. He recently worked with the Triple Eight Race Engineering Holden Commodore TeamVodafone in Australia where Bourdais and Jamie Whincup earned the Gold Coast 600 victory.
