Justin disappointed with 11th in Barber qualifying

competitive IZOD IndyCar Series qualifying session he narrowly missed out on a place in the Firestone Fast Six and will line up 11th for Sunday's Indy Grand Prix of Alabama. Will Power took pole position for Team Penske (1:10.1356, 118.057 mph) and Justin's Dreyer & Reinbold team-mate Mike Conway had a strong run to second on the grid (1:10.6501).

Justin struggled with understeer throughout the session, particularly on the softer red-sidewalled Firestone tyres. He posted the 6th fastest time in the first qualifying round (1:10.7389), but in a hard fought second round his fastest time of 1:10.7760 (116.989 mph) wasn't quite enough to make it through to the Firestone Fast Six.

"The Z-Line Designs/Charter team worked hard to try and make it into the Firestone Fast Six today, but we missed by a tenth of a second," said Justin. "We had a good run on the black tyres, but when we bolted on the Firestone reds we didn't quite have the balance we wanted. It will be tough to pass tomorrow, but the crew will make changes today and we will try and make our way to the front in the race. My team-mate Mike Conway qualified second and I'm really happy for him."
