Dan Wheldon, Scott Dixon and Vitor Meira all tied the knot during the off season. Meira was married to Adriana Schettini March 22 in Las Vegas.
Several drivers are lapping the garage area in hopes of landing a ride this season. Stephen Simpson, Adam Andretti, Phil Giebler and Leilani Munter have all been enjoying the warm Florida sunshine. Townsend Bell, who will drive a Dreyer and Reinbold entry at St. Petersburg, is here with the team.
Eight drivers will be considered rookies for the 2008 season. Jay Howard and Hideki Mutoh come to the IndyCar series from Indy Lights while six drivers from the Champ Car World Series will have rookie status. The six are Justin Wilson (Newman Haas Lanigan Racing), Ernesto Viso (HVM Racing), Enrique Bernoldi (Conquest Racing), Franck Perera (Conquest Racing), Mario Moraes (Dale Coyne Racing) and Will Power (KV Racing).
Wade Cunningham is making a one-off appearance with Brian Stewart Racing in the Indy Lights Series this weekend. Cunningham, who won the 2005 Indy Lights championship, said, "It's really to help my brother, who is driving all the road courses this year. I'll certainly help Juan (Manuel Polar), but I'll mostly be helping my brother." Mitchell Cunningham will pilot the car at St. Petersburg next weekend.

BorgWarner broke ground last week for a new production facility in Rzeszow, Poland, where it plans to produce an initial 500,000 turbochargers for European car makers beginning in 2009. Production is expected to increase to up to two millions units by 2011. The location in southeast Poland offers economic advantages and allows BorgWarner to serve vehicle manufacturers in both Western and Eastern Europe. The 54,000-square-foot (5,000-square-meter) operation is expected to create about 200 jobs.
