Toyota GP of Long Beach event, the Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing added a third IndyCar for Mike Conway. Team also has their two BMWs ready to contest the American Le Mans Series race; giving them a total of five racing machines at the venue.
Graham Rahal dropped from 12th to 21st after running out of fuel on the final lap of the Honda Indy Grand Prix of Alabama; James Jakes finished 23rd after problems.
Jakes set the 12th fastest lap time to earn his best starting position at this track.

James Jakes was scheduled to test on an oval circuit too, but RLL team elected to reschedule for mid April.
This is Rahal's first IndyCar test of 2013 and he ran a total of 142 trouble-free laps with a best times of 52.67.
Bobby Rahal showcased his new American Le Mans Series BMWs at Daytona with the team drivers and will later head to Sebring, Florida for the preseason open IndyCar test days with his son Graham and James Jake.
Jakes will pilot a second RLL Honda powered Dallara for the full season with Acorn Stairlifts as the primary sponsor.
The 2011 Long Beach winner Mike Conway will drive the No. 30 RLL Honda-Dallara-Firestone entry at the April event.
After a successful test, RLL heads back to the shop.
