Welcome to Indiana-ville where on-site photographer Jay Alley was pleased to see the rain at the Speedway disappear, allowing the Indianapolis 500 Pole Day to commence.
The morning rain in Indianapolis did not damper the enthusiasm of the drivers or there fans for the Indy 500 Pole Day activities. The final top nine shootout ended with the Indiana driver who is also the team owner!

Katherine Legge recently became the first woman to race the DeltaWing in the ALMS 4 hour event at Laguna Seca, and today she will return to an IndyCar cockpit for the Indianapolis 500

Andretti Autosport driver E.J. Viso was hot today when he set the fastest lap during practice at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway since 2003.

Rookie Conor Daly was okay while rookie Carlos Munoz again topped the charts. Tomorrow is Fast Friday and perhaps the expected veterans will be the ones to set the hot laps.

Rookie trio of Tristan Vautier, AJ Allmendinger and Carlos Munoz completed their Rookie Orientation Program at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Mercedes already has cars that compete in GT and endurance series and question is will they built a prototype for Le Mans in the future? IndyCar entry would probably be Mercedes engines if they do elect to go that route.

James Hinchcliffe and Takuma Sato raced to the finish line on the streets of Sao Paulo, Brazil. Both drivers had already noticed victories on street circuits this year in the IZOD IndyCar Series.
Remembering the turmoil in the IZOD IndyCar Series in 2012 prior the the 96th race in Indianapolis as we head into the 97th running of the Indy 500.
The first day of action on the street circuit in Sao Paulo saw the track record change four times over the course of the day.
