Shanmugam takes first pole of Buddh weekend

Ananth Shanmugam clinched pole ahead of Akhil Rabindra in the JK Tyre Racing qualifying at Buddh International circuit.

Shanmugam clocked the fastest lap with a time of 2m11.006s with Rabindra 0.448s shy of the polesitter for the first race of the weekend.

Coming from his China heroics, Karthik Tharani was third as Italian Costantino Peroni fourth and Sandeep Kumar fifth.

Vishnu Prasad finished sixth, the last driver to dip within a second of pole's time. Dualing his role this weekend in Vento Cup, Nayan Chatterjee was seventh.

The top 10 was completed by Akash Gowda, Krishnaraaj Mahadik and Dhruv Mohite.
