The 2015 season of MRF 1600 kicked off at the Madras Motor Race Track in Chennai as Goutham Parekh won Race 1 of the weekend.
While the MRF Challenge championship was on its close, the 2015 season of the National Racing Championship started in Chennai during the same weekend.
In a 10-lap race, Bangalore-based driver Parekh took the first victory of the new season as Karthik Tharani finished second and Mumbai-based Advait Deodhar completed the podium.
Doubling his work this weekend, Arjun Narendran finished fourth as he also raced in the Indian Touring Car championship.
British driver, now living in Bangalore, Hamish Robinson completed the top five.
Behind them Feroze Khan was sixth, Anshul Shah seventh and actor/racer Jai Sampath a lap down at eighth.
