Photos of the new HPD-ARX-04b design has been released to the world and will be ready for LMP2 competition in 2015.
There are going to be a lot of new LMP2 cars on the track in 2015 and Honda Racing Development has joined the contingent that's revealing new designs. On Wednesday, HPD released photos of their new HPD ARX-04b, which will be ready for LMP2 competition in 2015.
The design looks very different than the ARX-03b and should perform considerably better. The biggest change that stands out the most is the new closed-top coupe look, which everyone is talking about - the first time Wirth has produced such a design. The car will be powered by a 2.8-liter twin-turbo V6 as well.
There should be a ARX-04b on the track and testing before the end of the year in order to make sure everything is mechanically and aerodynamically sound. The car will make its debut in the 2015 Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona; the opening round of the Tudor United Sports Car Championship.
