XM SATELLITE RADIO WILL BECOME A PARTNER OF VICI RACING IN THE 2005 IMSA GT3 CUP
VICI GROUP is pleased to announce today that XM Satellite Radio will become a partner of VICI RACING in the exciting new for 2005, IMSA-sanctioned and organized, Porsche GT3 Cup.
Last month we decided to participate in the inaugural series this year, initially with a single Porsche 996 GT3, and join championship mid-season. VICI RACING has been allocated start number 11. Now the close involvement of XM Satellite Radio will allows the programme's planning to rapidly move forward.
The series, which will be open to Porsche GT3 Cup and Type 996 models, will start with five races this year, before expanding to ten in 2006. Prestige is also certain as all five rounds in 2005 will support the important American Le Mans Series (ALMS). The dates are: Road Atlanta (15-17 April), Mid-Ohio (20-22 May), Portland (29-31 July), Road America (19-21 August), and Laguna Seca (14 -16 October).
After the official announcement today that XM Satellite Radio would become the team's primary sponsor in the Porsche GT3 Cup, VICI GROUP Marketing Director Bill Colleran commented, "This is excellent news, XM Satellite Radio are a fresh and strategically forward looking company, who are presently undergoing rapid expansion. VICI Group is also seeing swift growth and currently rolling out a number of exciting new programmes, with the involvement in the GT3 Cup very much a 'stepping stone' to further projects that we expect XM Satellite Radio to be involved with.
"As such there are many synergies to be explored between us and we look forward to the start of a long and fruitful partnership between us," he concluded.
