MONTEREY, CALIF.-- Allison Duncan of San Rafael, Calif., led all 21 laps Sunday to win the Women's Global GT Series event at Laguna Seca Raceway. Duncan started third on the grid, avoided two separate tangles on the opening lap to forge past the front row and take command by the second corner of the 11-turn road circuit. Divina Galica of Sebring, Fla., was second, followed by first-time series starter Sonja Bayer of Germany and series point leader Cindi Lux of Aloha, Ore., whose fourth-place finish was her first out of the top three this season. Duncan became the fifth different winner in the series in as many races and came after a long yellow at the start to clean up the incidents. "The long yellow got me out of sync," she said. "It's an advantage to know the track. We got close (to winning) a couple of times. At Road Atlanta, I was leading, ran over some oil and went into the wall. This one was a long time coming." Galica challenged in the closing laps but couldn't get past Duncan. "Allison's brakes were going but I didn't want to press it and cause an accident and make them mad at me," Galica said. "I didn't want to cause a crash because I'm running for points." The season ends Nov. 7 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
