PAGEREY SCORES FIRST PATRON GT3 VICTORY AT MOSPORT GRAND PRIX

BOWMANVILLE, Ontario August 30 -- Mitch Pagerey, Deerfield Beach, Fla., tested a few weeks before the Patron GT3 Challenge by Yokohama series raced at Mosport International Raceway and it paid off as the series newcomer scored his first series victory in round nine Saturday.

While Pagerey led the way, Martin Snow, Pleasant Grove, Utah, turned the fastest lap of the race, giving him pole position for Sunday's round 10. Snow led from the start and held off Brian Wong and Bob Faieta for his fourth win of the season. Pagerey finished third in round 10 in the Platinum Cup, the class for 2008-2009 Porsche 911 GT3 Cup cars.

"It felt good out there. I knew Bob was there and any time I'd fall of he'd be closer," Pagerey said about his victory. "I just can't say enough about Alex Job Racing. We definitely earned it and it feels great to be here."

Brian Wong swept the awards in the Gold Cup, starting first in both races, finishing first in both races and winning the Yokohama Hard Charger award for advancing the most positions in round 10.

"I'm having a great time. This is one of the toughest tracks we come to all year. To be able to come out here to victory is really good," Wong said. "The team worked really hard to get the car set up for qualifying in the rain and we got pole. Then we had to switch it back because it dried out. The car was great."

In round nine Steve Goldman finished second in Gold Cup followed by points leader Melanie Snow. In round 10 they switched places, Snow finishing second, Goldman third.

A recap of rounds nine and ten will air on Speed Sept. 6 at 1:00 a.m. EST. The next stop on the Patron GT3 Challenge by Yokohama calendar is Petit LeMans at Road Atlanta Sept. 16-18.
