The Ferrari 512S is presented to the press at the Gatto Verde Restaurant, near Maranello, Italy. This particlar car (chassis #1004) will later appear, in longtail configuration, as car #6 in the movie "Le Mans" (1969).
"Miss STP", Paula Murphy, becomes the first woman to pilot an Indycar around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway when she drives 5 laps in a Novi during a tire testing session (1963).
At Phoenix, Arizona, USA, Alan Kulwicki, driving a Ford Thunderbird, wins his first NASCAR Winston Cup race (1988).
