April 5, 2003 -- Kurt Busch takes his first International Race of Champions victory. The win comes at the Talladega Superspeedway and helps Busch along his way to winning the 2003 IROC title.

April 9, 1988 -- Eddie Hill becomes the first drag racer to crack the five-second barrier. Hill, competing in the Top Fuel class at an IHRA race at the Texas Motorplex in Ennis, is clocked at 4.990 seconds.

April 10, 1999 -- Larry Dixon makes history with his Goodyear tires as he records the first sub-4.5 second pass in NHRA Top Fuel history while racing at Houston Raceway Park.
