APRIL

April 27, 1997 -- Racing on Goodyear tires, Warren Johnson becomes the first NHRA Pro Stock racer to crack the 6.9-second barrier with a time of 6.894 at Richmond.

April 29, 1984 -- Goodyear introduces radial slick tires to Formula One racing during this season and on this date Michele Alberto, driving a Ferrari, takes the new technology to victory circle in the Belgian Grand Prix. Goodyear had introduced radial wet tires a season earlier.

May 2, 1998 -- Mark Martin, on Goodyear tires, takes victory in the International Race of Champions battle at California Speedway.
