1979, 84, 87, 88, 89, 90*, 91, 92, 93, 94, 95*, 96, 97, 98, 99*, 00*, 01. Note: In 1993 Earnhardt took over driving duties for the deceased Alan Kulwicki.

1979: This was still in the era of split years 1979-1980 season, IROC 6. The format, in its second year, was changed with special qualifying races staged for the NASCAR, Indy Car and road racing drivers. Earnhardt's first race, the NASCAR qualifying Race, took place on June 16, 1979 at Michigan International Speedway. He started 7th and finished 7th in an orange IROC Camaro. Neil Bonnett won.

The series was discontinued between 1981-1983.

Championships: (Four) 1990, 1995, 1999, 2000. Note: Tied with Mark Martin for most championships. A.J. Foyt and Al Unser Jr. are the only two drivers with multiple championships. A.J. Foyt 1976 & 1977, Unser Jr., 1986 & 1988.
