Although no drivers went off course Wednesday, some did have problems with damaged suspensions and similar maladies after leaving the racing line and making contact with rocks. This group includes Pikes Peak Open driver Brian Moody and Open Wheel drivers Jimmy Keeney and Marc LaNoue. 'A rock got in my way,' LaNoue joked. He said his car has been pushing in low speed corners and he left the racing groove in the tight turn at the Start of 2nd Leg. The PPIHC rookie said his car suffered a broken shock mount and tie rod on the left front side, as well as some other suspension damage.

Pikes Peak Open driver Robby Unser gave some assistance to Unlimited driver Koichi Horiuchi after hearing that Horiuchi was suffering from a terrible backache. Members of Unser's and Horiuchi's teams are good friends. One of Unser's associate sponsors, Young Living Essential Oils, had their products on hand. Unser applied an oil to Horiuchi's back and then did some personal energy work with the driver from Chiba Shi, Japan. An eight- time PPIHC winner, Unser became interested in holistic healing practices after suffering numerous racing injuries that traditional medicine could not alleviate. He has received training in a non-invasive chiropractic process, though he is not licensed. After the oil and the energy work, Horiuchi was feeling better.
