Overnight Camping On Pikes Peak Available On The Evening Before The Event

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is proud to recognize Sportsman's Warehouse as the sponsor for overnight camping on the night before the 85th running of this historic race. This sponsorship is for the designated Sportsman's Warehouse Campground on Pikes Peak. A limited number of permits are available for this one night a year, exclusive opportunity to camp on Pikes Peak.

Permits may be purchased at the customer service counter at Sportsman's Warehouse, 555 N. Chelton Road in Colorado Springs. Permits are on sale now and are priced at a cost of $75 per vehicle. Tickets will be $100 after June 30th. Gates will open to campers at 12:00pm on July 20 and will close at 8:00pm.

Malcolm Smith Named Cycle Division Grand Marshall For Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb has announced that Malcolm Smith will be the Cycle Division Grand Marshall for the 2007 85th running of the spectacular event.

Smith starred in the most famous motorcycle movie of all time, "On Any Sunday". His racing skills and fame came as a result of many successes in races on Mexico's Baja Peninsula and the International Six Day Enduro in Europe.

The great Paris to Dakar race saw him finishing strong on four wheels, so he handles a steering wheel as well as handlebars. Smith is a past Pikes Peak International Hill Climb Champion with a 500cc class win in 1981. It is expected that Smith will have his winning Husqvarna with him at the event's tech inspection.
