ENGLEWOOD, Colo.—Cars competing in the United States Road Racing Championship GT Championship are eligible to compete in the FIA GT Championship races at the Homestead-Miami Speedway, in Homestead, Fla., September 24-26, and Watkins Glen International, in Watkins Glen, N.Y., October 1-3. The original format for the Sports Car Extravaganza weekend in Homestead and the Bosch Sports Car Oktoberfest in Watkins Glen called for separate FIA GT and USRRC races at both venues. Following extensive discussions between event organizers and USRRC officials, the USRRC Can-Am class was dropped from both events. Cars competing in the FIA GT race will not receive USRRC GT Championship points. USRRC GT teams (GT2, GT3 and GTT) wishing to participate in the FIA GT races should contact Benjamin Franassovici for entry information (011-44-171-370-4950 fax; tel. 011-44-171-259-2598). Technical questions should be directed to Jurgen Barth, tel. 011-49-711-911-4115. Both weekends will continue to include the SCCA Pro Racing-sanctioned Pro Spec Racer series.
