Two of India’s five representatives at the Nissan GT Academy Asia in the UK have been sent home, after the third day of the Asia Race Camp.
The third day at the GT Academy saw double elimination in the Indian team as three of them remain in the competition for the final part.
The first elimination from the team was Abhishek Dwaraknath in the morning event while Anush Chakravarthi was knocked out after the gymkhana event.
Dhruv Dayal who won the elimination round of the gymkhana event said the team was 'sleep deprived' but were ready for the competition.
"We knew the top two were pretty safe so three of us felt a little bit in danger - relief that we got through and sad for the guy that went out," Dayal said, at the end of the day.
"After that we knew gymkhana was going to decide another elimination. We watched videos and researched, all of us together as a team, and tried to focus.
"It was definitely tight, a little too close, probably half a second or less than that," he added.
Although Dayal made it to the 15, he was disappointed with his effort and wanted to do better to move ahead in the competition.
With the competition heating up, only 15 drivers remain as they fight out to win a contract with Nissan.
The Indian team came into the competition with only five members as visa issues deprived Jaideep Chahal, the chance to make it to the UK round.
Along with Dayal, Akshay Gupta and Shantanu Kallianpurkar made it to the final 15 and now face a stiff challenge from the Japanese, Indonesian, Philippines and Thai teams.
Karun Chandhok has been mentoring the Indian drivers all along in the competition.
