Bonner burns Bio' in world debut of Trident Iceni GT2 race car
British GT regular Alan Bonner gave the Trident Iceni its first shakedown test in Norfolk and will join Enzo Mucci for the GT2 Sportscar's World debut of the Bio Diesel at Silverstone on October 8th for the last two races of the British GT Championship.
The Scotsman has already driven the Xero Corvette, Atlanta Clio, Master Motorsport Ultima and the Graham Nash Porsche in the British GT Championship and he has also had successful outings in the ASM Ford Falcon this season.
Team principal Phil Bevan "To finally see Alan in the Car at the weekend was fantastic, we are absolutely thrilled that he and Enzo have backed us with our Bio Diesel GT2 race car. Silverstone will be the realisation of seven years hard work on the Iceni project, everyone keeps telling us we'll never be competitive against Ferrari's and Porsches, well, the best is still to come".
Bonner, "I have been working on the project with team boss and the car's designer Phil Bevan for a very long time on this project, so to finally be here only days from it's debut is really exciting for all of us. The team deserve an incredible amount of praise for getting the car to this stage. They have worked night and day (literally) and have created a beautiful new British Sportscar running on Bio Diesel.
We had the Trident Iceni on an airfield in Norfolk last weekend for it's first shakedown, which went extremely well. Because it's running on Bio Diesel it takes a lot of getting used to its lack of top-end revs, however it does deliver a lot of torque in exchange for outright horse power.
I believe this is the world's first Bio Diesel GT2 car and with the build production of the Trident Iceni road car already underway, I feel very privileged to be part of this fresh and exciting new British Sportscar company."
