Jamie Derbyshire will start from the front row of the grid in the ninth round of the British GT Championship at Thruxton in Hampshire tomorrow after driving partner, Shaun Balfe, set the second quickest time in official qualifying.
The pair were unable to beat the FIA specification Ferrari of Tim Mullen and Andrew Kirkaldy, who set a blistering lap of 1m 13.09s to take pole position. The Mosler MT900R of the Balfe Motorsport Team was seven tenths of a second behind, with the rest of their rivals another four tenths behind.
"That is the best we could have hoped for against the Ferrari to be honest." Explained Jamie, "The car has been running well so far this weekend but we don't have the development that they do."
"The rest of the British GT grid has also narrowed the gap to us this weekend and it is going to be a very interesting race tomorrow." He added.
Derbyshire will take to the circuit at 3:15pm tomorrow afternoon for the 75-minute race.
