Derbyshire aiming for podium return in Le Mans battle.

Northamptonshire's Jamie Derbyshire is aiming to make a return to the podium in the next round of the British GT Championship at Castle Combe in Wiltshire next weekend (June 21/22), after a disappointing home race at Silverstone last month.

The Spirit Volkswagen of Banbury and Leamington Spa backed racer is the current series leader and picked up four straight wins before the poor result at Silverstone. However, he keen to return to picking up silverware at the quick Wiltshire venue.

"It was a disappointing result at Silverstone, but I am aiming to gain momentum again at Castle Combe and get back onto the podium again." Says Jamie.

"Once you have tasted a lot of success you miss it when things go wrong so the whole team is fired up to get back to our winning ways again." He added.

The GT racer prepared for next weekend in the best possible way by watching the famous Le Mans 24 Hour race in France this weekend (June 14/15). He will also be taking on some of the Le Mans entrants at Castle Combe when the works TVR crew enter their two 24 Hours cars.

"The factory TVR's should be very quick and it will definitely make the grid balance in their favour with the regular entrants too, but we will run our own race and see how we get on." Added Jamie.

The team will be hitting the track in the first free practise session on Saturday morning at 11.50am.
