BRITISH GT AT BRANDS GP
The British GT Championship reconvenes in Kent this weekend at the awesome Brands Hatch Grand Prix Circuit. The full-length GP circuit is one of the best in the world but can only be used a few times every year so the British GT drivers are looking forward to blasting around the historic track.
Londoner, James Sutton, fresh from a fantastic fourth place finish in the Porsche Supercup race at Silverstone last weekend, is hoping that he and his team-mate, Michael Meadows, can take their first win of the season. He faces competition from his CR Scuderia team-mates and the ever-strong Vipers.
Brands Hatch will be the last event hosting two rounds of the British GT Championship this year as the final two events - at Silverstone and Donington - are hosting single two-hour GT races.
CR Scuderia Ferrari no.14: James Sutton & Michael Meadows
JAMES SUTTON: "The GP circuit at Brands is unreal. I raced on it in Formula Renault and as soon as I experienced it, it was elevated into my list of best circuits. The corners out the back, through the woodland, are just incredible. I'll probably jinx myself by saying this but I have won every time I have raced at Brands, on the GP track or the Indy track. As well as being one of my favourites, this is also my local track so I should have plenty of home support this weekend. The building site I work on in London is closed for the day, all my mates from Uni will be back and half of North London will be there…no pressure!"
CR Scuderia Ferrari no.15: Michael Cullen & Paddy Shovlin
MICHAEL CULLEN: "Paddy and I are looking forward to racing on the Grand Prix track at Brands as it is a great circuit. We have done Ferrari Challenge races there and also driven an F1 car there so we know it well. We want to get back up on the podium this weekend; we made it up there briefly at Thruxton but then the results changed so we want a proper result this weekend."
CR Scuderia Ferrari no.16: Luke Hines & Jeremy Metcalfe
LUKE HINES: "This is my home circuit so I've know it since I was a kid. I've always had good results at Brands and it's one of my favourite tracks. I'm feeling confident that Jeremy and I can get a good result this weekend so finger's crossed."
