End of Season Win for Sharpe at Brands Hatch
"We won the constructors championship - what a fantastic end to the season."
A blinding drive coupled with an inspired team call saw Adam Sharpe surge to victory, winning the final race of the season and the Teams Championship at Brands Hatch this weekend. After qualifying on pole Sharpe endured a battle at the start with Simonsen's 360 Ferrari - Simonsen proved to be Sharpe's only real competition with the two drivers some 13 seconds ahead of the rest of the pack just 10 laps into the race.
A great call from Tech 9 team boss, Phil Hindley, kept Sharpe out on track whilst all the top N-GT cars pitted - Sharpe put in some great driving to extend his lead to 44 seconds (almost a full lap). He was the fastest man on track and undoubtedly the star of the race.
A disaster in the previous race saw Sharpe's own Driver's Championship bid shattered when team-mate Dominic Lesniewski had an off resulting in the car retiring before Sharpe could even start his stint.
"Naturally I'm very disappointed to miss out on the Driver's Championship as we've worked hard all season. These things happen, but it's frustrating when it's circumstances out of your own control. "
Sharpe finished second in the Driver's Championship, a fantastic achievement considering he missed three races in total primarily due to his Le Mans commitments with Morgan Works Racing.
Sharpe heads to Bahrain next to drive the N-GT Tech 9 GT3-RS in a series of 3 one hour GT races.
